It's Mother's Day here in Oz. So congratulations to those brave souls who listened to the cry of "Populate or Perish" from Aussie politicians all those years ago. Congratulations also to Jim's Dad who has his 80th birthday today. It's hard to know what to get a Scotsman who has everything so I sent a donation on his behalf to plant saplings for bagpipe trees. The hardwood required to make the bagpipe chanter is endangered. Surely you can see that the world would be poorer for the lack of bagpipes?
Considering the huge number of Hallmark holidays there are in a year already, I think it's only a matter of time before someone initiates a holiday in honour of people who have reached the end of their childbearing years without contributing to global overpopulation. Then perhaps I'll get chocs and flowers too.
