I've enjoyed my long weekend of unemployment but it's back to the chalkface tomorrow. My department has been outsourced. So on Friday we had an official farewell lunch and in the evening we had an unofficial farewell piss up but tomorrow it is back to the same class, with the same textbook in the same classroom but a with a different boss sitting in the office. Don't the French have some natty quotation on the more things change the more they stay the same?
I am convinced I am going to become ill next week. That's because I have had sick leave available to me for the last two and a half years and never needed to take any. Now I am back on sessional with no sick leave so for sure I'm going to catch something.
On the upside we are having a morning tea -with cake- tomorrow to introduce the new boss. Already I am thinking that it would be churlish to refuse a slice. No wonder I don't get any thinner.
