I've unstapled the jeans and given them to the lady in the shop to take up properly but as she is only open when I am at work I'm having a spot of bother retrieving them. It's still too hot for jeans anyway so there's no rush.
The house purchase is moving ever closer. Today we were given the guided tour of the security system by the (soon to be ex-) owner. It's his pride and joy and he's gutted to be moving. The whole house is totally computerized. It doesn't have a key, it has a 'smart card' you wave at the wall in a friendly manner whilst murmuring "open sesame" and the house unlocks itself, switches on the lights and puts your pipe & slippers by the fireside. On being informed of the impending sale his mother-in-law enquired "But are they worthy?" It seems that we are. Having been brought up on Dr Who and Star Trek, I am no stranger to technobabble. I convinced him that the user interface modules will be in safe hands. I've also assured him that we really won't be upset if he takes the windmill and the water-feature sculpted by his great-aunt from the garden. The sale will go ahead next week.
All this stress has been the cause of several lapses with a baked date slice not to mention a Mississippi Mud cake moment only this evening.
